If you enjoy sci-fi films that have a bit of intelligence about them then I strongly recommend that you go out and watch ‘District 9’.

It is a real shame that the Nigerian government thinks that this movie is offensive as it really does have some good morals at its heart. I would say that it was like a social commentary within the science fiction genre. There are many things in the film that are clear reflections of our world and of our behavior and I am quite sure that offense was the last thing that was intended.

I would not say that it is all comfortable to watch; at times it can be quite disturbing, but there are also elements in it that are sentimental and thought-provoking.

Do not be put off by what people are saying about ‘District 9’, it is one of the most original films that has been made for a long time.
